Since it is already public elsewhere, I thought I'd announce here that I have accepted an offer to be an Assistant Professor of Law at John Marshall later this year. This means I will be leaving my law firm in New York and moving to Chicago. In terms of the Sex Crimes Blog, this is good news.
As you can probably tell, my schedule is such that I only have a limited amount of time to blog each day and I sometimes miss days altogether. Hopefully, with larger control over my schedule, I should be able to blog in depth about more issues of concern to readers.
Most importantly, becoming a professor will offer me greater freedom in my legal assessments of certain issues. As an attorney at a firm, I have obligations which often restrict what I can do and say. Being a professor will allow my words to be a bit more free and I should be able to become more involved in some litigation and policy work related to sex crimes.
These changes will become noticeable this Summer, but I thought I'd make the announcement here since my affiliation with John Marshall is listed elsewhere around the legal blogosphere (and on SSRN). As an aside, if you have emailed me recently and I haven't replied, I apologize - I've been busy and am still way behind in email. Thanks for reading.
Congratulations on the professorship!
