From the Lacrosse Tribune comes this story:
Felony charges were filed today against a La Crosse teen accused of posting nude photographs of a 16-year-old female on his MySpace page.
Alex Phillips, 17, of W4300 Hwy. M, No. 79, was charged with possession of child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child and defamation in La Crosse County Circuit Court.
La Crosse County authorities confirmed Saturday that Phillips' Web site had two photographs of the naked girl after receiving a tip from police in Janesville, Wis., according to the criminal complaint.Phillips had no intention of removing the photographs, the complaint stated. Told by police he could go to jail for posting the photos, βhis reply was, β(Expletive) that. I am keeping them up,ββ according to the complaint.
As mentioned previously, child pornography law enforcement is a strange world. The Supreme Court's recent decision in U.S. v. Williams that "offers to provide or requests to obtain child pornography are categorically excluded from the First Amendment" makes a lot of sense in many ways; yet one hopes reasonable heads will prevail in this case (all folks included).
